The Mutawakiliya Library at the Grand Mosque was the largest in Yemen. It possessed many books and manuscripts, some of which dated to the 1st/7th century. Included was the very valuable manuscript collection of Imam al-Mansur Abd Allah.
The library at the Mosque of al-Malik al-Muzaffar had a large number of rare manuscripts.
