Icelandic State Park
The park is located on the north shore of Lake Renwick, 5 miles (8 km) west of Cavalier, ND, on Highway 5, near the U.S./Canadian border and covers 912 acres.
Within the park are the Pioneer Heritage Center and restored historic buildings.
Restored buildings and costumed interpreters practise crafts and portray the typical lives of settlers during the late 19th and early 20th Centuries.
The Homestead illustrates pioneer life of the area.
The Gunlogson Nature Preserve, a 200-acre natural wooded area along the Tongue River, is a sanctuary for plants, birds, and wildlife.
See map of the park.
Note: Only the flora list is available at this time.
