(The following comes from a circulating email, with some additions by us. The author is anonymous, but he/she has a very good idea!)
Let’s put the seniors in jail, and the criminals into a nursing home.
This way, the seniors would have access to showers, hobbies, and walks.
They would receive unlimited free prescriptions, dental and medical treatment, wheel chairs, and so on.
They would receive money instead of paying it out.
They would have constant video monitoring, so they could be helped instantly if they fell, or needed assistance.
Bedding would be washed twice a week; and all clothing would be washed, ironed and returned to them.
A guard would check on them every twenty minutes, and bring their meals and snacks to their “room”.
They would have family visits in a suite built for that purpose.
They would have access to a library, weight room, spiritual and legal aid all free, on request.
Private, secure rooms for all, with an exercise outdoor yard and gardens.
Each senior could have a personal computer, a TV radio, and daily phone calls all free.
There would be a board of directors to hear complaints.
The guards would have a code of conduct, that would be strictly adhered to.
The “criminals” would receive cold food and very little of it.
They would be left all alone and unsupervised day after day.
The only supervision they would get would be if they tried to leave the premises.
Friends and family would not visit.
Lights off would be at 8 pm sharp.
They would be allowed showers only once a week; and, if they refused, it would be another week before they could take one.
Bedding would be changed once a week.
Clothing would be washed once a week and maybe returned to them.
They would live in a tiny room and pay $5,000.00 per month for it.
Personal items would go missing and no one would care enough to look for them.
And they would have no hope of ever getting out.
Now, that’s justice for all.
