Northern Spy

This is a large, green and red-striped American apple that resembles the Baldwin but is superior. It has long been considered the perfect specimen and became something of a legend.

It originated in the northeastern part of the US at the beginning of the 19th century and grew well into the 20th century but now is seen less often.
