Cortland

Cortland

This is a modern American variety bred from the Ben Davis and McIntosh apples.

It is a favourite for fruit salads because its flesh hardly browns when cut.

Fairly large, red and yellow, it has a sweet but moderately acidic flavour. Its season is late autumn.
