Regions – anatomical term – common name

  • Abdominal – abdomen – abdomen
  • Antebrachial – antebrachium – forearm
  • Axillary – axilla – armpit
  • Brachial – brachium – arm
  • Cephalic – cephalon – head
  • Cervical – cervicis – neck
  • Crural – anterior leg – leg front
  • Femoral – thigh – thigh
  • Gluteal – buttock – buttocks

  • Lumbar – loin – lower back
  • Manual – manus – hand
  • Pedal – pes – foot
  • Pelvic – pelvis – pelvis

Directional terms and meanings:

  • Anterior – the front or before
  • Caudal – the tail or, in humans, the coccyx
