Local Mixed Train

The local mixed train consisted of a few regular freight cars for local delivery, a baggage/mail car, and a passenger coach. Sometimes, there was a caboose. This train was slower than passenger or freight trains as it had frequent stops along the route. It always gave way on sidings to allow other trains to pass. Peter worked in a small seating unit in a little buffet car on the CP from Toronto to Smiths Falls and also on to Ottawa. There may be a little variation, depending on the line being served.
