Rumi’s Masnavi, considered by Iranians to rank in importance with the Koran, is a classic of Sufism. It was originally written in Persian and the best-known work of Jalaluddin Rumi (1207-1273). Rumi was the founder of one of the oldest orders of Sufis. He was a poet, mystic, and a man of profound insight into the nature of man.
