This is a listing of symphony/philharmonic orchestras worldwide along with the chronological listing of their principal conductors as far as I have been able to locate. I have written to numerous orchestras. All have English-language websites, in whole or in part. There have been very helpful responses from some of these. However, so far, there have not been responses from others. The information of still others has been taken from the official websites of orchestras. (See: Acknowledgments). This is an ongoing project, in which I hope to be able to include many more orchestras. There are some blank spaces and, possibly, some errors. If any reader of this page finds either and can provide the corrections, please contact me.
