- Arthur C Clarke Award - given to the best science fiction novel whose British first edition was published during the previous calendar year
- Author of the Year Awards - each year since 1993, The Booksellers Association members have been invited to vote for the author who has had the biggest impact on their year
- Booker Prize For Fiction - the premier British award for fiction written in English by a citizen of the United Kingdom, the British Commonwealth, Eire, Pakistan, or South Africa.
- British Science Fiction Awards - given out each year for the best science fiction published in Britain the previous year
- Carnegie Medal - established in 1936 in honor of Andrew Carnegie, is given for recognition of an outstanding book for children and young adult readers, written in English and first published in the United Kingdom during the previous year
- Commonwealth Writers Prize - established in 1987 and sponsored by the Commonwealth Foundation and administered by Book Trust, with eligible works being of prose fiction (ie, a novel or collection of short stories) of reasonable length, without restrictions on setting, theme or mode, and written in English by a citizen of the Commonwealth
- David Cohen British Literature Prize - awarded every two years to a living writer, novelist, short-story writer, poet, essayist or dramatist in recognition of an entire body of work, written in the English language by a British citizen
- Global Business Book Awards - recognize the most innovative contributions to business literature and promote worldwide readership of business books
- The Guardian Fiction Award (Guardian First Book Award) - awarded to a work of fiction by British or Commonwealth writer and published in the UK
- James Tait Black Memorial Prizes - works of fiction and biographies written in English regardless of writer's nationality, originating with a British publisher, and first published in Britain in the 12-month period prior to the submission date (30 September)
- John Llewllyn Rhys Prize - any work of literature, fiction or non-fiction, written by a British or Commonwealth writer (previous winners not eligible) under the age of 35, if written in English and published in the United Kingdom
- Kate Greenaway Medal - awarded for distinguished illustration in a book for children
- Kurt Maschler Awards - given annually to honour "a work of imagination for children, in which text and illustration are integrated so that each enhances and balances the other"
- Nestlé Smarties Book Prize - awarded annually to a work of fiction or poetry for children written in English by a UK citizen, or an author resident in the UK in the year ending October 31st
- Orange Prize for Fiction - awarded for excellence in women's writing
- Sainsbury's Baby Book Award - presented annually to the author/illustrator of the best book for babies under one year of age
- Samuel Johnson Prize for Non-Fiction - awarded to a work of non-fiction in the English language by an author of any nationality in one of the following areas: current affairs; history; politics; science; sport; travel; biography or autobiography
- Whitbread Book Award - identifies some of the most enjoyable books published in the UK each year, with six awards in total: five category awards (Novel, First Novel, Biography, Poetry and Children's) and one overall winner from these, the Whitbread Book of the Year
- WHSmith Literary Award - celebrates the most outstanding contributions to literature from any subject or genre by a Commonwealth or UK citizen, regardless of author's age
